Official Gonggi Game

Official Gonggi Game - is a traditional Korean game that involves tossing small stones, typically five or more, into the air and catching them while manipulating the remaining stones on the ground. It's a game of skill and dexterity that requires coordination of the hands and eyes. The game has various levels of difficulty, making it enjoyable for players of all ages.

The Gonggi Game has 5 levels or grades, each with different difficulty levels, and each level is harder than the previous one.

Level 1: After all of the game stones have been thrown into the playing area, the player can select one to launch into the air. The player must pick up one stone from the ground while it is in the air. The stone that falls from the air should then be caught. Thus, the player's hand contains two stones in total. Until every stone on the ground has been picked up, keep doing this.

Level 2: The player can then select any one of the game stones to toss into the air after all of them have been thrown onto the playing surface. Now, though, you have to pick up any two stones at a time until you have picked up every stone on the ground.

Level 3: Things are different at this level. The first time, you must pick up three stones; the second time, you must pick up one stone.

Level 4: All of the stones are already in your possession from the third level. You must now toss one stone into the air, place the other stones on the ground, and then catch the stone that is in the air. Throw the same stone once more, then simultaneously pick up every stone on the ground and catch the stones in the air.

Level 5: Toss every stone in your hand into the air, then rotate it such that the palm is facing down and the back is facing up. Next, use the back of your hand to capture every stone that drops from the air. You must then catch the stones in the air with your palm facing down after continuing to toss all of the stones into the air.

The gameplay varies from the fourth level, and the fourth and fifth levels are the hardest. To perfect the skills, you typically require additional practice, especially at the fifth level.

Tricks for Level 5 Dragon (Arirang in Korean)

A rapid hand reversal is required for this intricate technique. The player rotates their hand from palm up to palm down while the stone is in midair. Then, with their palms facing down, they catch the stone. The player's score for that turn is doubled if they execute a Dragon successfully.

Toss a Clap
This method necessitates exact timing. The player claps their hands before capturing the stone as it is in the air. A successful Clap Toss doubles the score for that turn, just like the Dragon.
